Why I'm Thankful For You

In light of the Thanksgiving holiday coming up soon, KSBJ (and just about everyone else) is talking about taking a few moments to think about what you are thankful for. KSBJ had a different twist on doing your regular old thankful list. They suggested not only listing the people you are thankful for, but to also realize why you are thankful for them. That got me thinking. Thank you KSBJ for giving me my topic for the day!

My list of thankfulness:

*Javier:
-I'm thankful for Javi because he always has my back, whether I'm right or wrong. He has always been  the one I could go to for anything without worry. I could be saying or doing something awful and, while trying to coach me in the right direction, he would never judge me.
-I'm thankful for Javi because he makes me feel special, important, and always does his best to take the best possible care of me. He always goes out of his way to take care of something if it means making my life easier, even if it makes his more difficult.
-I'm thankful for Javi because my life is more fun with him in it. We have a similar sense of humor so we often make each other laugh, even when we aren't trying to. More times than not, we find ourselves joking and kidding around, and every time it shows me how comfortable we are loving each other. Everything is so natural with him.
-I'm thankful for Javi because he treats his family right. He cares about his parents, and tries to help his brothers whenever they need it. He wants what is best for everyone he is related too, and I know that when we have our own family, he will do the same for us.

*Alyssa:
-I'm thankful for my sister because shes always tells me the truth. I can ask her anything and she won't sugarcoat what shes going to say. And even when the truth is ugly, her advise/opinion almost never reflects that. (Although, I can't say never because she HAS said a few of my clothing items are ugly! haha) I appreciate that when I go to her, I know I'm not getting just a nice lie that I'm not looking for.
-I'm thankful for my sister because she is always thoughtful. I'm blessed to be the sister of such a great person.
-I'm thankful for my sister because she is so outgoing, at least when you know her closely :p It's such a joy to hang out with her. When she is comfortable with someone, her true personality comes out and she is such a great person to be around. She's one of those people that lift your mood up just by being next to her.
-I'm thankful for my sister because she is almost always happy. She is the least moody person I know. Even when something upsets her, she tries her absolute hardest to never let it get her down. Shes so great at hiding her negative opinions. I wish she could teach me how to do this.

*My parents:
-I'm thankful for my parents because, well frankly, without them I wouldn't be here :p
-I'm thankful for my parents because they gave everything they had to give my siblings and I the life they wanted us to live. They literally ran themselves dry to raise us the best they could. Whenever we needed something, they were always right there to provide.
-I'm thankful for my parents because even though we were spoiled with love, we were never spoiled rotten. They taught us to be thankful for everything, to be respectful of everyone, and to not just think about ourselves.

*My Mom:
-I'm thankful for my mother because shes the most caring person I know. She will give up everything she has to help out people she care's about. And even if she doesn't really care too much for you, well she will still help you out. Shes so great about putting aside her feelings to do what's right.
-I'm thankful for my mother because she is a great Christian role model. She wakes up early each morning, puts Joyce Myers on, reads her bible, and writes out her prayers and thoughts. She does her best to live her life the way the Bible and the Lord calls her too, and she does it the best I've seen anyone do it. Even when things are tough, she tries so dang hard to figure out why the Lord did what he did, and she always comes out a little bit stronger.

*My Dad:
-I'm thankful for my father because he taught me the importance of working hard for what you have. He worked long, hard days to take care of us, and he never once let on to how difficult his life was. He worked hard, not for himself, but for us. To give us the roof over our house, the food on the table, and the blankets on our bed. He taught me that if there is something I care about enough, I'll work however hard I need to.
-I'm thankful for my father because he always thinks about his kids first. He always asks if I am doing ok with bills, and offers money if he worries I'm not doing well, despite the fact that he doesn't have money to spare. He has always taken the least reliable car, despite the fact that he drives the longest route, so that he never has to worry that one of us are broken down on the side of the road. He has always given us more, and himself less, and because of that I'm so grateful to call him my dad.

*Justin:
-I'm thankful for my brother because he gives what he has to help his family out. If I ever need anything, I know I can go to him.
-I'm thankful for my brother because he is sarcastic. This may seem like a weird thing to be thankful for, but it's his personality and I love that he doesn't change himself for anyone or anything. He teaches me that it's ok to be who you are. That people who leave you because of who you are aren't as important as the people who stick with you in spite of who you are.
-I'm thankful for my brother because, like my sister, he always gives a truthful opinion. He is very blunt about it, very straight forward, and very to the point. If I need a quick opinion, he is great to go to.
-I'm thankful for my brother because he is very opinionated and educated. He is a great person to go to if you don't want a one sided opinion. He looks at both sides of the playing field and makes a decision based on what he believes after all the facts, and loves to share all the little details he learns to anyone willing to listen.

*Delilah:
-I'm thankful for my cat because since I got her she has ALWAYS been at my side. Through heartbreak, bad choices, tough decisions, lonely nights, and every move I've done in my life, shes always been with me. Like dogs are mans best friend, Delilah is my version of that. Shes difficult at times, but she's always been with me and I appreciate all those nights shes laid at my side when I was alone.

*-I'm thankful for Javi's dog Misty because, even though we don't get along well, I feel safer with her. I know that if shes growling, somethings wrong, and if shes sleeping everything is normal!
*-While I don't like to dwell on the past (or give attention to), I'm even thankful for my ex's. Each and every one has taught me something about myself, and I wouldn't be the same person without them. I've learned how I can be the best woman for Javi, what not to do, and what to do. And I can fully appreciate everything he does for me. My past helps me not take him for granted. I know there is only one Javi in the whole world, and nothing will take me away from him.
*-In a way, I'm even thankful for Javi's ex's. The same way that my past has shaped me, his past has shaped him.
*-I'm thankful for the kids I babysit for. Both girls are amazingly well behaved and so much fun to be around. I'm so grateful that I have a great job that is truly a joy to do each day.
*-I'm thankful for all the ladies I follow that post coupon deals up daily, without them I wouldn't have a pantry stocked full of food, a bathroom full of razors, shampoo, conditioner, and other necessities, or a kitchen with a Keurig machine that makes Javi happy!
*-I'm also thankful for all the cashiers who have been so patient with all my coupons and multiple transactions. I'm thankful that even the difficult cashiers haven't been that difficult.
*-I'm thankful for all my past teachers and professors who sat through my endless excuses for why I failed a test, didn't have my homework finished, or didn't show up for class on time.
*-I'm thankful for the people that I should have gotten into an accident with if they had not been paying attention. I have almost been in countless car accidents by being careless, when myself or innocent people could have been hurt if not for their keen attention.

The list goes on and on.

Have you taken the time to stop and give thanks for the people in your life? Not everyone is blessed with great people surrounding them, so be thankful for who you have. Even if you only have one great person, thats still more than many many others have.

Until next time,
Tiffany <3
