Sorry I haven't updated in awhile! We still don't have internet at our apartment so I've been waiting till I was back near connection! (I was technically able to post yesterday, but I forgot my laptop cord and my laptop battery was already half drained...I wouldn't have had enough time to post everything I want to)
It's going to be a random update, I have a few very different things to update you on :)
First of all, I'm going to start with the breakfast we had on Sunday morning. Javi wanted to make pancakes for us so he got that started. A few minutes later I heard him freak out so I walked over to see what was wrong...Low and behold, the pan he was cooking on caught fire. Literally, there were flames and everything. We didn't have a fire extinguisher or even anything in our pantry to help us out a bit, so we were kinda at a loss and just stared at the pan in his hands that we had no idea what to do with. Finally he told me to grab out a towel and toss it to him, and he proceeded to toss the towel over the pan/flames which eventually stopped the fire, Crazy huh? Javi had to hurry and unplug the smoke detector before it went off like we knew it would, and I went and opened our patio door to try and get some of the smoke out. (yes, we put the detector back on, don't worry!)
We still wanted pancakes so we continued cooking. Neither of us are very good at making pancakes though, and luck was not on our side. Javi's pancakes kept turning out uneatable and we had to make more mix. I decided to step in and try a hand at it, and I was only somewhat better. I was making them eatable at least, but they were really big pancakes and I was only able to make 3 from the mix. Not really enough for two people.
Soooo, Javi offered to make me Malt-O-Meal which instantly excited me since I'm addicted to that stuff :p After criticizing the way he was making it (and cringing once I finally shut my mouth and let him do it his way), it came out perfect. All that was left to do was add the brown sugar. I, being the idiot that I sometimes am, added in so much that it became a brown sugar soup, literally. I messed up my food right as we were going to sit down and eat! But Javi being the sweetie that he is offered to make me another serving (after laughing like crazy at the way breakfast was turning out). The next time around, I'm not really sure what happened. I just know that after I scooped the food out into my bowl, the pan and the stove top looked like an eruption had happened...see for yourself
(its not normal to have all those weird dots at the top of the pan, and its obviously not normal to have the splatter all over the stove...)
Needless to say, that's a morning we won't soon forget. We took a few other pictures, but they are all on Javi's phone so I can't upload any of the fun we had (after the fire at least). I will say that once we sat down at the table, our food looked not only normal, but delicious. Other than the awful smoke scent lurking the apartment you wouldn't have guessed that our cooking had been so difficult or eventful!
Next up on the list, we make it to Breaking Dawn Part 2! I was in a bad mood when we went though, so I didn't enjoy it the way I normally would have...not that I really care for the movie much to begin with. The only reason why I still looked forward to it was to see what was going on with Jacobs character. No, I don't care that everyone thinks he's hot (and yes, I rolled my eyes in the theater each time he was shirtless and the crowd cheered). To me, he's the good guy and Edward is just kinda pathetic. Bella should be with Jacob. But to each his own.
The movie had me bored for the majority of it, although I will say that I laughed out loud a few times ("You nicknamed my daughter after the loch ness monster??!?") so it wasn't all bad. The fight scene at the end was pretty awesome, till they did something that make it lame. You will know when you see it. Dakota Fanning's character had the best reaction during it, I don't want to give away anything though so that's all I'll say. The ending was cute enough, I'm super slow though so I didn't understand the importance of it till Javi explained it to me, then I was all like "oh, that's what that was?....AWWWWW!" :p
Let's see...Thanksgiving is next on the list. While I'm not super excited for the holiday itself (seeing as I'm vegetarian it's really not a meal to look forward to anymore), I am excited about the day after, Black Friday. For the first time ever, I'm going out and waiting in long lines in order to try and snag a few good deals. I'm going to be stopping by Kohls when it opens (midnight) and hoping to get a few things knocked off my Christmas list. Depending on how crazy Target seems, I might stop by there after. I'm excited though!
While we are on the topic of my Christmas list, let me say this. I'm VERY organized this year. I have a list of everyone I need to shop for, and a limit for how much I'm allowing myself to spend. I'm trying SO hard to stay on a budget to finally get my credit card debt over with and Christmas is a hard time to do that! But I have everything planned out and even have a few gifts bought already! :p Usually I wait till last minute, but I intend on fully enjoying this holiday season and getting gift buying out of the way is one of the best ways to lower my stress.
Oh, then yesterday when I came home from work I had a nice awkward moment with a neighbor across from our apartment. I was walking down the hall trying to get home when I saw a little kid knock on our neighbors door then take off running. The kid was gone by the time I reached my door and the lady in the apartment opened the door right as I was trying to put my key in...I was the only one she saw. I couldn't not say anything since It clearly looked like I had knocked on the door, so I turned around and told her about the kid. She said ok then went back inside. That's not the end of it. I needed to walk Misty so I put her on her leash, grabbed my phone and keys and headed out. As I was trying to lock the door behind me, Misty started running and jerked my hand with the leash. That was also the hand holding my phone so when she took off, my phone flew out of my hand and hit that same neighbors door...I was SO annoyed and embarrassed that I didn't even wait till the lady opened the door again, I just took off. Not really smart I guess, but oh well.
I FINALLY made it to the gym yesterday. I only did 30 minutes on the bike but it's better than nothing! If I don't get off too late tonight I'm going back again. After work today I have a 5 day holiday weekend (yay for rest and relaxation, not-so-yay for my bank account...) so I intend on going to the gym often. It felt so good to be back there!
Last night Javi and I make vegetarian hamburgers for dinner. I've been craving it for awhile so I was so excited to finally get it. We had to go grocery shopping for the ingredients but it was worth it! They were SOOOO delicious. I wish I could have them every night (but then going to the gym would be kind of a waste :p ) We made two each, but one was enough to fill me up so I brought my 2nd one for lunch at work today! *checks clock to see if its lunch time yet*
^Excuse all the lettuce that's blocking the rest of the burger lol. It truly was a perfect meal though! You can't tell from the picture but I had already taken a few bites out of it. I couldn't wait till after I took a picture, I had been waiting for it for way to long to wait any longer :p
That's it for now!
Until next time,
Tiffany <3
"The day we met, frozen I held my breath.
Right from the start, I knew that I found a home for my
Heart beats fast, Colors and promises
How to be brave
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall.
But watching you stand alone
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow.
One step closer...
I have died everyday, waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid, I have loved you
For a thousand years,
Ill love you for a thousand more."
-Christina Perri featuring Steve Kazee "A Thousand Years Pt 2"
Ok, as if the first version of the song wasn't good enough, they had to go and redo it for Breaking Dawn Part 2. And somehow (I didn't even know it was possible) they made it even better. Something about the new beginning (that, yet again, surprisingly reminds me of Javi even more) and the guy that sings with her makes the song even more passionate. Mark my words, this song (this version most likely) WILL be a song we dance to at our wedding. No doubt about it.
