Ok, so shooting a gun was never really on my bucket list. But I figured I would get over my fear and try it at least once in my life.
Javi and I had last weekend off together so I decided I would try and take interest into a new (kinda) hobby of his, while also experiencing something new myself. So, Saturday night he showed me a few basics, the Sunday afternoon we were off to the shooting range.
Javi loaded his gun and took a few shots to show me how it's done. Then he handed it over and it was my turn. Not going to lie, it was scary. It was loud and the sounds of the other guns were undoubtedly distracting, but it was more so just the power that scared me. Idk, im weird.
Anyways, I was scared. I held my gun up, looked through the sights to line everything up, put my finger on the trigger....
Then got too scared, put it down and took a step back. Yup. Javi started laughing at me, asked what was wrong, then pointed back towards the target and told me to try again. So I stepped up again, and low and behold... I got too scared AGAIN. The idea of actually pulling the trigger scared the CRAP out of me.
But, after some more support from Javi, I finally pulled the trigger. My response? Step back instantly and awkwardly and proceed to tell Jav that I was good, once was enough. Honestly, im not even sure where my first shot went.
Javi took a few more shots, then offered it back to me. Pretty much the same thing happened, but I slowly got a little less scared (let me stress the part where I said a LITTLE).
I'm not very good, as pretty much anyone who knows me might assume. BUT I did get a pretty awesome shot in. Got it right in the center bullseye part. Yeah . Should have seen my face after I made that shot :)
Pretty darn well for being my first time :)
On a side note, here's an update on what's happened lately:
*my mom's birthday passed. We had a girls day out and took her to get nails done (don't ask me how mine turned out, still super annoyed about that one), picked up some lunch (We settled on Chinese.. being vegetarian doesn't make group meals easy unfortunately more restaurants need to be vegetarian friendly! ) and then took her out to Bear Creek Park for a picnic and some family pictures.
*We had a few community garage sales in the area one weekend (actually the same weekend we went out for my mom's birthday) so we went on a long garage sale trip and hit as many as we could. Doughnut stop in the middle, of course!
*My family actually held our own garage sale last Saturday, we did pretty well for the little amount we had out to sell. I sold some of my old apartment stuff I didn't even know I still had, as well as some scrapbooking/craft stuff I probably won't use ever.
*Javi and I finished watching Lost. I still can't believe it's over, and I can't say that I'm too happy with the way it ended... It ended, javi asked what I thought, and my response was '' that was the most confusing episode ever... I have no idea what just happened'' But all in all, it's a pretty awesome show. I will miss our Lost marathons. *tear*
*My family and I all went out to Houston for a day, all 5 of us. That never happens, so it was really nice. We picked up lunch from Central Market (I went out on a limb and tried something new... Next time I'll stick to a sandwhich) , had a picnic in Herman Park, went to the Natural Science Museum and the Fine Arts Museum , then went to The Chocolate Bar (I got this ice cream scoop that had a TON of candy bars mixed together, I'd put up a picture but it's on my sisters phone) . Pretty great day.
That's pretty much it!
Until next time,

Gonna leave you with a few pictures!
One is of my new scrapbook organizer, i got it for a quarter( at one of garage sales we went to), sanded it, painted it, then filled it in :) Its my new favorite scrapbook ''toy''
Then there is a picture of a really pretty spot in Herman Park that I took while out there.
And last is a picture of me at the end of the shooting range trip. Yup, pointing at my best shot.
(pics uploaded in a different order, obviously just swap the first and last descriptions...)
