Ending the year on a positive note

I know I already wrote my end of the year post,  but something just happened that made me want to update...

Before I say what it is,  let me say that I'm aware its a small achievement, im aware that some people do 10xs this every day,  and im aware I'm making this out to be a bigger deal than it probably ought to be.  But regardless, here it goes.

I RAN A MILE WITHOUT STOPPING TODAY. Yup. I went a whole mile without taking (or really needing) a walk break. I wasn't going for the fastest time, and because of that it took me 11:45 to finish said mile, BUT I did it consistently and didn't give up.  Like i said, Im aware its a small improvement. But im teaching myself to celebrate every milestone along the way,  and this my dear, is surly a milestone to be celebrated!  I'm very happy and proud of myself. It only took me a week to build myself up to this so I'm hoping that i'm improving well!

I started my training a week before planned and im already making steps off my checklist. While starting the day before Christmas Eve wasn't the easiest decision,  it was one I don't regret.  I'm a week ahead of schedule,  already running a mile straight,  and I still have 10 months till my goal race.

I'd say I'm ending the year on a GREAT note.

Happy New Years everyone! Here's to hoping and praying for a wonderful 2013!
