(I actually wrote this on the 18th but for some reason it didn't publish/post. I just noticed it...)
Ok so I'll admit it, while I've been working hard on my mile each day, I've been lazy. I realize that I can't achieve what I want by just doing one mile and calling it quits but I've been lazy and am guilty of doing just that.
So to fix that, I worked on a training plan for the next few months. I spent a lot of time working on something that I think is achievable but also a hard workout at the same time. I could have done the Couch to 5k program but decided that doing that would be a step backwards from my progress.
I did my first day of training yesterday. I ran 1.10 nonstop, then walked as little/ran as much as possible till I hit 2 miles. I got off the treadmill thinking I would quit because of how worn out I was but a minute later I hopped back on and continued. I could only manage an extra half mile but I'm still glad I continued. My goal for the day was to continue until reaching 3 miles but I just couldn't do it. I was only a half mile off so I'm not too disappointed. I mean, my last run only lasted one mile/11 minutes so I think bumping it up to 2.5 miles/33 minutes is a pretty big accomplishment as it is.
A big thank you to the cast of 7th Heaven who unknowingly accompanied me for my 2.5 mile adventure. Today was the first time I have ever ran alone without music. Instead I opted to watch my favorite episode of 7th Heaven in hopes that it would take my mind off the run. And in deed it did. What episode is my favorite you ask? Well prepare for a shocker here. My favorite episode is the one where one of Lucys friends dies in a car accident. *shakes head* Considering how I am about the whole death topic I don't know why this is my favorite. I guess because it centered around my favorite character and she did the emotions so well. I've seen the episode about 50 times and I still almost shed a few tears while on the treadmill (I only didn't because, well it's hard to cry when I can barely breath :p). It's a good episode though, you should go watch it! It's called Nothing Endures But Change :)
All in all I had a great workout despite not making my goal. When I was finally finished I looked at myself in the gym mirror and my face was SO red haha. Means I pushed myself pretty well!
Today I WILL make it to 3 miles, I don't care if I have to walk the whole last .5 of the mile, im GOING to do it.
I will say that my left knee is not on my side through this which is making it harder. It was hurting so bad yesterday after my run. I iced it and it doesn't hurt anymore (Yay!) so I'm thinking ice is one of my new best friends.
In other news...
My Be The Match kit came in yesterday! They said to expect it in 2 weeks but that bad boy came in within a few days! I did what they asked of me,then sealed the envelope and placed it in the mail yesterday :) Hopefully this means I will get put on the registry sooner than planned!
My blood donor card came in yesterday as well :) Now I'm just waiting on that tshirt I ordered!
It's finally Friday so Yay for the weekend! I won't be sleeping in at all this weekend but I will just have to make up for it next weekend :p
That's about it for now!
Until next time,
Tiffany < 3
